Thom Houghton

Mr. Thom Houghton has been teaching English and Writing Electives including Creative Writing and Journalism at Delaware County Christian School for the past twenty-eight years. He has also served as the advisor for the school's academic-quizzing team for the past two-plus decades.

The Art of Writing

Developing the art of written expression is crucial for students of all ages, and what better way to develop this important skill than to read works by some of the masters of short fiction. Through a study of selected short stories, students will not only enhance their expository writing skills but will also improve their capacity for creative narrative expression. The course, taught by Mr. Houghton, is designed for students in grades 5 through 8.
